JUDr. Anton Blaha, CSc.

He worked as an attorney since 1963. He is one of the founders of BLAHA, ERBEN & PARTNERI law firm. He focused on commercial, civil, tax and labour law.

He was the first President of the Slovak Bar Association after 1990, later its Vice-President, he is still a member of various bodies within the Slovak Bar Association.

He is the author and co-author of textbooks and academic textbooks, he gave lectures at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University and the University of Economics in Bratislava. When the Slovak Republic joined the EU, he initiated the project and participated in preparing the publication An Attorney before the European Courts. He is the author of several articles in the field of law, and he still writes articles and books dealing with various social and community topics. He does not practise law since 1 January 2018.

JUDr. Pavol Erben

He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava.

He has been working as an attorney since 1978. He is one of the founders of BLAHA, ERBEN & PARTNERI, focusing on international, commercial and civil law. He is a specialist in arbitration law.

He acts as an arbitrator at the Arbitration Court of the International Court of Arbitration (ICC) in Paris, arbitrator at the International Court of Arbitration of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce in Vienna (VIAC), arbitrator at the Arbitration Court of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RS SOPK) and arbitrator of the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (SIAC). His team has extensive experience with arbitration proceedings, both as arbitrators, but also as legal counsels of parties to such proceedings, mainly in arbitrations conducted at the RS SOPK and ICC in Paris.

He was the head of the Slovak Bar Association´s Delegation in the CCBE (Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe). He is a former member of the Bar Council of the Slovak Bar Association, and the first Honorary Consul for the Canadian Consular Office in Slovakia. He is the chairman of the Examination Board for the Bar exams within the Slovak Bar Association.

JUDr. Juraj Erben

He has been working as an attorney since 2006. He became a partner of BLAHA, ERBEN & PARTNERI law firm in 2006, focusing on commercial law, corporate law, civil law, family law, leasing, loans, bills or exchange, bankruptcy and restructuring. He participated in the drafting of complete contractual documentation for a leading non-banking company providing funding in the area of agriculture; he has extensive experience with mergers, notification of concentrations and with representing clients in the administrative justice proceedings.

In 2001, he attended a specialized legal English language course in Los Angeles, and he also participated in an internship in a law firm in Austria. He performed mandatory military service at the Military District Court in Bratislava, where he dealt with criminal law. JUDr. Pavel Jurek

He has been working as an attorney since 1995. He became a partner of BLAHA, ERBEN & PARTNERI law firm in 1995, focusing on private as well as on public law, mainly on complex solutions of legal agenda of companies operating in the automotive and pharmaceutical sectors. He has extensive experience with all aspects of family law, including but not limited to the care of children, child maintenance and the distribution of matrimonial property. He deals with investment grant projects under the EU law and with international transactions of companies.

Having completed his university studies, he worked in the Judicial District of the Higher Regional Court in Vienna until 1992, and he then sat as a judge of the District Court Bratislava I until 1995.

In 2011, he completed a mediation training course, passed the examination and was issued a certificate authorising him to practise as a mediator. He is registered in the Roll of Mediators of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic.

JUDr. Marek Valachovič, PhD.

He completed a law degree at the Law Faculty of Trnava University in 2004, and he passed a doctoral (JUDr.) exam at this University in 2007. He practised as a trainee attorney in BLAHA, ERBEN & PARTNERI law firm from 2004 to 2007. He has been working as an attorney since 2008; he has been practising law through VALACHOVIČ & PARTNERS s.r.o. since 2017. He became a partner of BLAHA, ERBEN & PARTNERI law firm in 2018.

He specializes mainly in civil and commercial law, focusing on real estate law, tenures and issues of ownership of apartments and non-residential premises, management of apartments and non-residential buildings and the agenda thereto related. He represents clients in proceedings before the courts and administrative authorities, including representation before the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg in connection with the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms.

In addition to his professional practice as an attorney, he occasionally gives lectures and writes articles and books on various topics in the field of civil and commercial law.

JUDr. Marek Valachovič, PhD. was the head of a team of authors writing the expert commentary on Act No. 182/1993 Coll. on the Ownership of Apartments and Non-residential Premises as amended, published in 2012 by C. H. Beck Publishing Company. He received prizes for his articles published in the Bulletin of Slovak Advocacy in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014 within the publishing competition organized by this peer-reviewed periodical.

In 2014, he completed his postgraduate studies at Pan-European University, where he was awarded a PhD. degree in civil law, and he completed his dissertation thesis on “Ownership of Apartments”, a substantial part of which was published in 2015 by C. H. Beck Publishing Company as a separate monograph.

In 2011 – 2023 he has been a member of the Examination Board for the Bar exams within the Slovak Bar Association, and a member of the Private Law Reform Commission set up by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic since 2015.

He regularly participates in the professional congresses and seminars focused mainly on the management of apartment buildings and property rights. Cooperates in the professional education of lawyers and judges with the Slovak Bar Association and the Judicial Academy of the Slovak Republic.
